My name is Chris Nicholson, I run a small construction firm based in Hull producing high quality work for homes & businesses across East Yorkshire. I have over 20 years of experience in the construction industry and provide a complete contracting resource that includes; consultation, design, project management, construction, fabrication & installation.

The first reason someone might want to engage us is that I take pride in my work. This is quite different to what is generally offered. The average building tradesman will focus on turning the job around quickly. This has obvious merits but inevitably involves compromises. My approach isn't perfect but invariably priorities the finished article and a methodical process.
I have been self-employed for around twenty years, which means I've done a lot of different things and have a wealth of experience. I am well equipped and organised and can turn my hand to a number of trades such as carpentry & joinery, window installation & glazing, plumbing, roofing, installation of fascias & guttering, rendering, pointing, damp-proofing, concreting, plastering, tiling & landscaping.

I'm passionate about our heritage and think conservation areas have a positive impact on us. They are meant for the preservation of our heritage, history and culture in the long term. All conservation work I undertake will first be considered in terms of the quality of materials, traditional & modern techniques and impact on visual amenity.
Our heritage helps us feel part of something greater than ourselves and is as much about today as it is about yesterday. Quite often this means taking a balanced approach to renovation & restoration. I believe the development of period properties can be successfully accomplished by using modern materials and techniques to either assimilate with the historic fabric or contrast the surroundings and provide honesty to the built environment.
